You’d be surprised how much space can be claimed back by building retaining walls or terraced gardens. Once this project was completed there was a lot more flat usable lawn. The initial stage of the project included the building of new fencing, next was the removal of the existing garden surrounds and building of new retaining walls. Once that was done, the lawn area was levelled and new lawn laid and planting completed. Down the side of the house we removed some steps which were topped with loose pebbles and replaced it with newly constructed timber frame steps with paved non-slip surfaces. The effect was much tider and much safer for descending!
